Tire Size vs Gear Ratio

I am going to change the tires on my eiger, i was going to put 27x10x12 front and back, i was just curious about the height of the original tires and when i measure them i found the the front tires(25x8x12) where aleast 1" shorter than the rears tires(25x10x12) is this normal or am i going to wreck something if i put 27x10x12 front and back, is the gear ratio different between the front and rear diff's to compensate for different tire height in the oem tires

Nothing to worry about, (unless you run on hot sticky asphalt in four wheel drive), it will not cause any trouble under off road conditions.

I guess i never paid any attention before but may be all oem quad tires are the same way
