This is a couple years back, Oct 2002
$4000 materials
$1600 concrete
$200 rebar
$700 electrical
$1000 drywall and insulation
Total 7000
plus labor of about $1300
However I had my Dad's carpentry friend and electrical do the work for a real good price, and my Dad hauled all the gravel and did all the prep work for the pad.

Plan for around the 10,000 mark give or take depending on if you do the finishing yourself or job it out and what you decide to use. McDiarmid, Olympic, Star etc would all be able to set it up for you start to finish or you can contact a company such as Garage Masters who will also look after the details.

You may want to add floor heat into the mix also Dan. A little extra cost to put in but well worth it down the road.

Mine cost me 15k for a 24x26 5 years ago. This includes the materials, wireing, concrete, isnolation & drywall, and heat. I did alot of the work myself.

One definate thing to do, which I overlooked for some reason was a floor drain.I totall regret not putting that in.

I agree 100% percent wild man thou that 24x24 is to small, need to make the a garage at least 24x30 if you plan on working on anyhting large ie: a truck

3 years ago I built a 24 x 25 at our old house, was closer to $15k. Went with 10 foot ceilings and 2x6 walls, R20 insulation. That didn't include drywall. My cement was $6k by itself but I had a 6 inch curb around the whole thing as well as an 8 foot approach, and the concrete guy also bust up and removed an existing pad that was there.....

In the near future I'm hoping to put up a 30x50, possibly a 30x60..... Can never have enough garage space!

I have to agree with the floor heat. Even if $ doesnt allow now put the plumbing in for it,b4 you lay your cement.
