Sandy Bay reserve at Amaranth is active again. RCMP finally closed them (chop shop) down several months ago and all the thefts almost completely stopped overnite. They seem to have reopen during march as the thefts have taken a remarkable rise almost back to the point prior of the RCMP charging the 2 main leaders of the chop shop.

reserve? like native reserve?
HH, i don't think so.
reserve? like native reserve?
He's referring to Sandy Bay, not Sandy Hook . Its on the western shore of Lake Manitoba and yep, it's a native reserve.
Will keep an eye out for those bikes too.

I registered to post this info after being referred to the site by a member at atvingmanitoba. Here was my post from that site.
Posting for a friend who just had his garage broken into and 2 bikes stolen, keep an eye out and let me or the Gimli RCMP know if you happen to see anything.
Bikes are:
2006 KTM 250SX-F VIN VBKMXJ4336M0996617 , bike has tattered stock graphics and is otherwise stock with the exception of an Orange Renthal sprocket on the rear that has a few scratches on it. Bike had the number 73 on the number plates at the time of theft.
http://www.holeshotphotography.net/leger/73.JPG
2006 Suzuki RM125 VIN JS1RF16C762101203 Basically a bone stock 06 RM125, Note that the numbers in this picture had been removed from the bike as it was for sale. They had shown the bike earlier in the week to what seemed to be a very interested party, said party never called back and the theft occurred a few days later. Nothing else was taken from the garage but the two bikes.

Well it sounds like you've got two main suspects...report that to the Gendarmes Royal du Gravel Road (GRC). If the call from them came to your cell phone search the number in your recieved calls folder, give the cops a desc of the people including the vehicle they arrived in...a friend of mine used to say "anybody with an eyball and an a$$h-le can see what happened here". Sounds like that might apply here too!
fwiw.

That's one of the great things about selling on ebay ....
Personally when I've sold some old cars (nova) parts ... I usually tell the person to meet up at one of the cruise lots on sunday, or one night while cruisin' down portage ave. and just haul the part out with me.

Those breeds of Turkeys usually "fluck" around together so hopefully the other bird won't be to far away ........!
Good Hunting ......and good luck !!

yes they found the RM 125, had a spray painted seat and sticker kit, as well as some other damages. i don't understand this, they have the guy who they think stole them, but they haven't questioned him and haven't found the KTM. couldn't they be beating the crap(not literally, but maybe) out of this clown so he tells where the KTM is?

would be nice but the guy aint' talkin' about anything other than the 125....and it's not like people haven't tried with this kid....people on the case have gone above and beyond on this one and they aren't done yet......it's a lot bigger than just our bikes.........

oh and btw....everyone keep your eyes open for people taking pics of your bikes and vehicles on your way home from somewhere........just to be safe......if you have a cel phone that can take pics and see someone doing that then just take a pic of them....incase something happens with your bikes ......(something I heard about today).......

when i'm selling something i'm always prepared to take pics(have my phone or camera handy) becuase if they don't buy it i would take all the info i could down. even ask for a drivers licence so they know your very serious about theft and that way if the punk knows that you have this much info on him he isn't as likely to try pull a quick one.

Thats why i hate selling stuff becuase it always seems that the garage seems to be open when some one comes to look at something. As soon as i move out i think ill invest in some rottys or maybe a 12 gauge...

Yes, its a good idea to have the item outside if possible. Its interesting to watch people come over to "look" at the item for sale and then do a visual inventory of your garage/house.
It almost seems the item for sale is an invitation to develope the shopping lists.!!
