not cool ,
Those morons should learn how to shoot. I'm surprised one of those "hunters" didn't shoot another "hunter" in the process of killing something that they won't eat.

you can hunt lions in certain parts of africa but i've heard of prices for tags anywhere from 15000 to 50000. if your going to shoot something that dangerous get a good clean shot i hate seeing animals suffer when some idoit doesnt know when and how to shoot.

I agree...personally I simply do not agree with trophy hunting. Unless its a pest or safety issue, killing an animal just for the thrill proves nothing.

I don't know the specifics but the title said "deranged lion"...before or after he was shot at? don't know that either. Sure sends a chill up your backside though.

Incredible footage! The guide actually stepped in front to try to stop the charge and it still kept going. I saw this a few months ago and couldn't believe it, I couldn't imagine keeping your cool with that thing coming at you.

Well, personally I don't see much difference between bear hunting and the lion in that video. Most of the time bear hunters only hunt for sport and not for the harvest.

Every hunter I associate with fills his freezer as well as his wall.
I'm not sure where you get that information but I would argue that "most of the time" a bear hunter's freezer is well stocked.
...what is YOUR opinion then of trophy hunting ?? (which I define as killing solely for the head/hide/pleasure and where the meat is not recovered)

You're entitled to your opinion as am I.

Thats 'cause the guide is the only one NOT sh*tting his pants right then !! LOL...

...what is YOUR opinion then of trophy hunting ?? (which I define as killing solely for the head/hide/pleasure and where the meat is not recovered) Hunted bear once eight years ago, shot it, skinned it, brought the hide and head in for a shoulder mount(taxidermist claims it's still in his freezer) and didn't care much for the meat. I was told "it's all in the way you prepare it". So I haven't hunted bear since....I can't hunt game that I won't harvest. It's nice to hear there are hunters out there for the harvest as well as the sport. Yes, my definition of trophy hunting is the same as yours but unfortunately, that definition doesn't apply to every hunter. You know as well as I do that there's a bad apple in every bunch.
You are absolutely correct my friend. That we can't do much about except to always do our part to promote hunting in a positive manner which reflects our own values of it, and that you just did !

Forgive me if I implied that you were one of those hunters, I simply meant that there are a LOT of "hunters" who bait and hunt bear only for a shot at that huge boar which they will only hang on the wall. They try to justify their "hunt" by saying "it doesn't go to waste, the coyotes will eat it". I think that's wrong.

My rule, if you kill it you eat it! I would really like to try bear hunting, just because I never have. But I have held back because I'm not a big fan of the meat and I wouldn't want to force my family to eat all that! Because I would see to it that it that nothing goes to waste. I might try it out yet.
Here's another super-hunter. I've always wanted to go out hunting for Kodiaks, but not to kill one just to see them. Don't get me wrong, I'd be packing my 416 Rigby for "just in case" but I don't really want to kill one, just to be able to watch such a powerful animal in the wild.

That sow didn't leave them with much of a choice. At least these boys were better shots than those lion hunters. One thing I'd like to see some day is an Alaska Moose. I just find it hard to fathom a moose to grow to 1600lbs. I'd just like to see them with my own eyes someday.
