Has anyone had any experiences with diffrent lift kits for SP500's? I was looking at lifting between 2-3 inches... Any sugestions in which product I should use? Has anyone had any probs with there bike after lifting it?

Thanks!

Curt, the only thing I know that sucks with lifts comes problems with your CV shafts and joints. Because you lift your bike 2/3 inches the angle of the shafts are way more angled than stock. This puts added stress on the joints that go to the diff and the tires. All depends on how hard you ride as well. Who's to say that if you lift your bike and drive white-man it may not be a problem at all. That's my 2 cents...

I might try it .. I would like to go to a 27" tire so I was hoping to gain some clearen with a lift...
I have heard for guys lifting the front only... said it was perfect as it leveled the bike out (polaris' seem to lean forward from factory). And they said that they were able to put 28" tires on front and back with a 2" lift in front only.

Might try that out as well... 28" might be a little big for a 500HO though?!?!

A couple friends of mine put spacers in the springs on front(cheap lift). It lifted the bike enuff to fit 27's on front and back. The only thing they noticed was a little stiffer ride on front. Other than that, no tire rub what so ever..

What did they use for spacers? How high did they go?

I guess if you went 2' or 3" all around your would gain more clearence too! Tough decision!

I think they bought the spacers from the dealer if Im not mistaken.. They're spacers that go in between the springs and have a groove for the springs to rest in. Seems to work and it's cheap too.

can you use them on the rear springs too?

Not sure about the backs. Have you set your springs to the stiffest settings? Sometimes when you buy your bike they set the springs soft for a plush ride. You could adjust them to a more nimble setting if you like. Not sure if you've done that already. I haven't seen spacers used for the backs, but I guess it could work if you think about it. Unless there's too much weight in the back for spacers to hold up. Most of Polaris weight is in the back anyways, you may require something more durable for the back.

Ya I set the springs up in the back a couple notches and got spacers for the front to put inbetween the springs (rubber ones) to stiffen the front up too. Rides much better now , not as sloppy. how high do you have your rear springs set up?

I don't even know to be honest. Bike is pretty much bone stock except for the 26" GY Mudrunners on the back. She seems stiff enough, though I've never checked them since new. Good one huh? Me giving you tips when I don't even know where Mine is set.... oh well, just telling you what I think I know right?:dong: :dong: :dong:
