Well came back from hunting last night...empty handed! Where I go, you need snow and real cold to get them out of the 8 ft tall marsh grass! Hopefully we get just a bit of the white stuff to make things move. How did eveyone else do?

Yep it sure is wet out there and with a litle layer of ice on the water makes it imposible to be quite when getting into the bush. I did manage to get a small buck this morning, my first day out and i am glade because with the conditions out there makes it not as fun as normal too be hunting. I prefer to have a bit if snow . makes it feel warmer and your feet stay drier. Oh well i still had a good time and got a strory out of it . Maybe if the weather turns more too my favaor i will get my second tag and get out again.

got a small buck the first day I went out, at about 8 am, took a long time to find it even though it didn't go far in the bush. It is going to be bad for wounded deer since I would bet alot will be shot that people won't be able to track. As for wet feet, spend the money and buy some good boots. I have a pair of Rocky boots, with Gortex supress scent and thinsulate. I can stand in water all day and the feet are warm and dry. Best boots I ever owned. Also the most expensive boots I have ever bought but all that matters is that you are dry. When you get wet the fun stops pretty quickly.

I headed out on saturday....seen 5 does.... not what i was looking for..the shots ranged from 15 feet to 400 yards...My partner noticed a huge buck walking across a huge opening right in the middle of the day, but the shot was over 700 yards...he said that this brute looked really nice(large rack and dark grey coat) through his binoculars.....really weird, if it was cold and snowy, the bucks would be right behind the does or not far off..Trust me I waited on a few....no Buck...His girl friend took a small buck..he was with a doe...glands on his feet were swollen but not his neck , and he did not smell, guess he just wanted friendship :joker: ... I guess there is always next year or maybe later in the month if the weather turns...

Has anyone other than myself recieved an extension on their P.O.L. free of charge ? I got mine in the mail today. It states I was randomly selected to get my existing POL which is about to expire, extended free of charge.

Strange......I was under the impression that the feds had included the renewal charges in their income projections for this draconian program....

:Bang: Nothing is ever "free" from the government....I wonder what they are up to now......:moon:

for what its worth.....

I never though about them expiring either.. what do you do then? Do they send you a letter?

:wtf:

Beats me....I presume they will let you know - although I would not rely on them to be prompt about it -

I like the methodology applied so far.....free and not requested by myself.....

As you know...its the government....it does not have to make sense.......
