My friends kids bike, has an issue with starting.
You can use the electric starter, the bike just turns over.
If you stop using the electric starter, and give it one kick start it starts right up.
Then if you shut it off and use the starter button it will start the rest of the day with the electric starter.
if you leave it for a long period, ( day or two ) you have to kick start it, then you can use the electric start again.
Anyone have any idea what is causing this?
Thanks
Dave

These bikes have an electric choke on them. You can purchase a manual choke from a dealer. I think the are around $75.00, all your problems will go away if you install one of these. Talking from experience.

this predator, already has the manual choke it is not a newer one with the electric choke.
its not the battery either, you can hook it right up to a charger and it still does the same thing.
any other ideas?

Is the charger the "start" kind, or your just tossin a trickle on it, cause if that's the case it's not enough juice to turn it over any faster then a 1/2 dead battery. Other then that...wow...quite a scratcher...I know some of the old Honda bikes if you didn't kick them over in the right way you could go all day and they would never run...just the right pressure and they fire!

I bought a brand new predator 90 cc 11/2 yrs ago and I have had the same problem many of times ....it seems to correct itself and it 's not the battery cause been there done that, with mine after it won't start with the electric start I'll kick it over and bam it starts right away, after that the electric start is fine (once warm) mine is a 2006 and it has manual choke, I had a 2002 scrambler and had the same promblem.

It starts with the kick start. The kick start is not returning up as well. not sure if they are related.
