I am trying to set up the engine timing and I noticed that the flywheel has three notches on it about 3/8 of a inch apart. The first is just a notch the second notch has a "F" stamped by it and the third notch has a "T" stamped by it. Now I kind of figure set it up to "T" but I am curious what the other two notches are for. I dont have a manual.

There is a single mark on the top timming chain gear that drives the valves, I aligned this mark facing up in line with a mark on the casting. The bottom fly wheel I will line up thru the timming hole just aft of the reverse shifter to "T"
Once these steps are done I will confirm that I am at TDC. And that should be it

Can any one tell me what I am missing or some pointers. The way that it is now the bike stalls at high power. Before I changed the rings it ran good.

thanks

Hey
Your manual will be on this site.

I cant remember for sure, its been a while since i did the valve timing on my trike. But I am pretty sure you line up the notch with no letter beside it to view window for the valve timing. F is flash timing...Read about it in the manual, it tells you everything you need to know. pretty simple to do too.

I ended up getting a manual got it figured out, the "T" mark is TDC the "F"
is the timming light mark at 1400rpm. The other plain notch still not sure.
Once I was sure the timming was correct I started looking else where it ended up being a bad ground that would only show up at high power, go figure I must have spent two days on it. thanks for the reply's
