Question I have is . I am looking for a 16ft to 19 ft Fish and Ski. I like the Legend Boats . They come with cover bench seat to take the wife and 3 kids. The question I have is they only come with a 50HP mercury 4stroke and a 75hp. What size engie is the min size. In order to movve a family around fishing and tubeing. Also has any one had any luck with the Legend Xtreme or Xcalibur Boats (www.legendboats.com (http://www.legendboats.com)) they are canadian made. Or is there abetter brand out there. I looked ar a Lowe1999- model197 Fish and Ski come with a 150ho 2 stroke. But it is still 18,000 plus tax. Your opion wanted pleaase. Thansk Tom

Stick with a 4 stroke. Unless you have alot of money for fuel.

Stick to the 4 stroke, many places are banning the use of 2 strokes ie:all provincial parks will be 4 stroke only in the near future.

I would talk to Lukes Town and serives .. Or PM "bry" on trackshare he works there. Check out the Alumacraft line of boats. I bought a trophy pro 175 and love it! Fish, Ski and when you have to hit the big water you will feel VERY safe in it.

My first choice in an outboard is a 4-Stroke Yamaha second would be a 4-stroke Suzuki. Both very reliable engines with proven track records..

Not sure if merc has fixed there issues with there larger 4 strokes or not in the last couple of years?? They were horible but that may have changed??

Here is a link to the Alumacraft line up..
http://www.alumacraft.com/trophy185_175.html

one thing to look at is the Hull design.. the Alumacraft boats have a 2xb haul with is a FULL 2 layer hull front to back where as Lund is only half back.. provides a quiter ride and a much better feeling when smakin those 4-5ft rollers ...

I can sell you a 1999 17.5' Bayliner Capri with a 135 hp engine. Thats enough to pull the average guy out of the water with a boat load. Pretty good on gas as far as boats go.
