New Name??

Well I was thinking of ways to attract more people to the site and one thing came to mind.. When I originally put this page up its main focus was supposed to be GPS' , GPS tracks and waypoints. Since the launch, it has taken a different turn, focusing more on Quads and Trails in Manitoba.
I personally like the way this site is turning out and want to bring more people into our community. One way I thought of is trying a name change. Something that is more suited to what we are all about now. Trying to focus more on ATV's, Trails, and just good ol' fashioned chit chat as a posed to strictly GPS'etc.

I registered a couple new domain names today and will be pointing them to this site. However we have the ability to change the site name from TrackShare.com to something else. The names I have registered are:

www.atvforums.ca
www.atvconnection.ca

What I want to know is what everyone else thinks? Should we stick with Trackshare.com or change it up a bit and pick a new name? Regardless of which way we go if you were to type in www.trackshare.com you would get to this page, however, for example we could make the main name www.atvforums.ca instead.

Just a thought... Let me know what you think!

Personally I prefer Trackshare, or maybe even Trailshare. Seems to be alot of atvforum sites around. Telling buddies to go to Trackshare seems to get their attention instead of ATV something or other. But that's just my thoughts, don't take it seriously...ha

Don't change the name as we will all have to change our "add to favorites" list in IE.

:cool2: Trackshare is a unique name and Yes there is going to be a million atv named sites leaving Trackshare still a little different.. Just my opinion and keep up the great work CAMO:cheers:

I agree with the rest. Too many "atv" sites, they all start to blend together! Trackshare sticks out, especially for guys like me who can barely work one of these damn computers!!!!

If you do a name change you should add Manitoba to it. Manitoba Trackshare...Manitoba Trailshare.....etc.....

When I was researching for info on quadding in Manitoba it took quite awhile to find out about trackshare. I found it thru a posting on the ATV Canada website after I asked on a thread that I posted for good places to ride out your way.

Just my 2 cents worth.

we need to advertise evevy where we go with stickers t shirts ???.. may be trakshare flyers at local atv shops to let people know about us......as far as the name its cool ......im tellin people about trackshare.com all the time.... even if you get one out of ten ....awesome......... lets grow.....when theres a derby thats a good time to advertise trackshare.com.............wild wolverine:humbs: :humbs:

We could do t-shirts ourselves at home. They have those iron on transfers out there. You print your pic onto this paper then iron it on to whatever you want. There are special paper for white or light colored clothes and for black or darks. They turn out actually pretty good.

They are not 100% quality like you would get at those "Shirt Stops" they used to have in the malls, but it works.

Camo could put the logo on the site and we could DL it and print it then iron it.

Just a thought!!!!!!! :D

Thats cool but the main logo has to be the same for every shirt just like a team shirt.
I think we could get call name on one sleave though.
But I was just throwing it out there because I am doing it for my ball team. If there is enough people wanting me to set this up I can find out what logo and how much? I know that if we get one big order in it would be cheaper than if we order seperate little orders.

You may not need to change the name at all. You can register some other names (CHEAP at www.baremetal.com, or other similar sites) and have them redirect to www.trackshare.com. The "redirect" is invisible, and with your web logs, you can tell which name(s) are sending you the most "hits".

People would have to find them with web searches like Google.

Like I said.. I'm no expert, it's just an idea. For $15, you can try another name for a whole year, and see who finds it.

Personally, I like trackshare.com... I really like this site, and I check in whenever I can to see what's coming up. Trackshare works fine for me.

Yup I am already doing that with www.atvconnection.ca and I am using atvforums.ca as a test site right now for Trackshare's upgrade...

By the sounds of it we will be sticking with Trackshare.com...

Hey camoman...I say keep the name Trackshare...its short..and to the point.:humbs: ..
When I first heard the about the site..I didnt even think it was just a GPS site....I just imagined it would be about different places that people had been to...and sharing pics and stories of there adventures. ITs turned out to be ALLOT better then I first thought...so keep up the great work!!!!
