I'm in the middle of installing a forced air propane furnace in my shop, and I don't have the proper connector for the propane bottle. The bottle I've got has the old style connector (yet I just had a brand new valve put on it), for some reason they don't use the same connector on the valve as barbeque tanks? Anyways, I need to essentially be able to hook up a new style barbeque tank hose to an old style barbeque tank valve/fitting. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone have an old barbeque kicking around that would have the old style fitting and not the new style black plastic fitting?

try fairview fittings in wpg, there on kenaston right after selkirk but before the logan underpass on the west side in the strip mall, they'll have any propane fitting you need in stock. If you can't buy from them by public give vinnie a shout and well put it threw on Excel Auto. later

When I lived in Wpg. I bought an adaptor that would screw in to the old style propane fitting and what you were left with was the same screw fitting as the new propane tanks. Seems to me it was something like $15. Should be in their BBQ area.

You can get the old style hose & fitting as they are still used in construction for the larger bottles and on the propane powered fork lifts (30# & 100# etc.)

Where did you buy it? I was at Home Depot today, and couldn't find anything like that.

That's exactly what I'm using, is a 100 lb bottle.

Got it all hooked up today, furnace is humming along beautifully. Thanks for the tip, joedirt. Now, I wonder how long that 100 lb bottle of propane is going to last......
