A friend of mine from work, interupted/chased off two guys stealing his 800
Brp snow machine. From east selkirk, tuesday (feb 19) morning 5:00am. two guys on a older body style Indy 500.
It had the BRP anti theft, so they didn't get it, but trashed the dash and cut wires. same phuckers i bet.

When I hear of incidents like that it kind of makes a person wonder if this country is built upside down or not ! The current "catch and release" program for criminals isn't working and these peckerheads on Broadway and Ottawa sit back and wring thier hands and wonder why ?
I guess the guy dispensing the justice must have had some identifying features ......next time he might want to sneak up on the thief from behind .......that way they cannot make a positive identification. Louisville Slugger might come into play here........you never know !!

I doubt that it will make its way up here, but you never know.
Can you post a pic of it? I don't know sleds enough to possibly recognize it (or even the general style of it), but if I saw a pic I could watch out for it a bit better.
Thanks and hope you find it!

you have no idea how relaxed border patrol is coming into canada. I could have probably brought back some surface to air missiles on the roof of the van and they would have still waved me through.

Okay, pay attention....first , select weapon of choice..second, beat the livng crap out of said thief with alternate weapon...thirdly and most importantly, place weapon in hand of unconscious thief, ensuring you don't leave "your" prints on it..and fourth..call the boys to pick up the trash.
Now I ask you, who will the cops believe when said thief screams set up, as he's hand-cuffed and hauled away...you or the thief? JMO

luckily i have never had to deal with something like this. but i know a few guys who have. if you are not happy with there offer hold out an don't sign off on it, and make sure you have all the reciepts if you can of all the after market stuff you put on. probably wouldn't hurt to get some quotes from some dealers either. good luck and hope everything works out in your favour.

Not to be the bearer of bad news skipper, but a friend of mine had his sled stolen and it wasn't very old and in mint shape...MPIC gave him what they call "book" value. It was way less than what it was worth...he was not happy.

Insurance should cover what it cost to replace it on the used market. Look for adds for similiar machines, cut them out and save them to show whoever is working on your case. If insurance doesn't cover what it will cost to get the same machine, whats the point in having it? Just to be clear, I am talking used, not NEW replacement. Your probably out of luck with regards to the aftermarket stuff adding value though.

It appears that the file is currently hosted on your computer. You cannot post a pic directly from your computer.
I am not sure if TrackShare allows users to upload pics. If so, then you should upload it to Trackshare before attempting to post the pic.
If one cannot upload pics to TrackShare, then you will need a (free) image hosting site. Upload the pic to the free image hosting site and then link it into your post.

Looks like its time for you guys in the high theft areas to set up something like "neighborhood watch - Vigilante division" and do some late night cruising. Get pro-active cuz the justice system isn't.
I'm thinking about removing the toys from my signature line. Is it advertising where to pick up parts and machines???

I have often thought that as well, but I figure that unless you are using your real name here on Trackshare & someone could look you up, you should be OK. And I can't find "mongrol" anywhere in the BC white pages! LOL:clap:

Maxter has it figured out, but for the uninformed, try the Yellow Pages under "Weird Old Guys, Senile Seniors, or Retired Greek Gods".
But to answer the question, if you drove into town and say you've heard of a guy that has some quad tracks, you'd find me pretty quick. Thieves are getting smarter and a lot more brazen nowadays.
