I am thinking of buying a quad and the dealer told me about the farm and rancher discount, not sure how this works but he told me that if I owned a business or farmed that I could buy a quad and get this rebate, I think you need the GST number - I should have asked more questions - does anyone know much about this and who it applies to - thanks

i think all you save is the g.s.t or if your a farmer or own your own business you can pay it up front on the quad and send paperwork to the government and you can get it back that way
might save enough to put a nice set of tires on that new quad

You pay the taxes up front. If you farm you charge back the GST when you file your GST form.If you use the quad for 80% of the time or more for farm use you can file for your PST back. The form is available through the province's tax dept.We have these forms on hand most of the time.

There is also a farmers rebate,My buddy bought his Suzuki kingquad and the dealer gave him 500$ off for some farmers rebate. Don't know much about it but I know there is one up and above the tax back.
