Does anyone know where I would be able to get these filters?
We used to be able to buy them from a Plumbing shop in Winkler, but they are not there anymore.

What type of media is it? Is it carbon or is it just a 1 micron filter?

Do you need the whole thing or just the filter?
The filters are pretty generic. So you should not have a porblem finding them. As far as the whole unit goes, a carbon filter is a carbon filter. All it is, is anthracite coal "aka activated carbon". So any carbon filtration system will work.
Remember to change them at least every 6 months. Those things are breeding grounds for alot of bacteria. They are used to remove chlorine and organic tastes and smells from water. No chlorine and lots of organics equals good food and no threat to bacteria. Its best to use a UV light after these.
