howdy fellers, if it aint an old yammi it's an old something......... well i got a ancient chrysler boat motor and it normally runs fine but last year i noticed when running all out i'll giver fer a bit then start to bog out so i pull back to idle and just sort of troll for a bit then i can open it up again and it'll be fine for a bit then same thing. the vent on the tank is open ( first thing i checked) and squeezing the primer bulb makes no difference. any one else have any ideas? thanx for reading.

Same thing was happening to me with my "76" johnson last summer. I run some Sea foam thru it and it cleared it up. Ir run great the rest of the season.

Ya, seafoam it and I would take the carb off and clean it. Sounds like fuel starvation, like your float might not be set right or your jets are clogged up.
Either way, I would clean it up, if it is fuel related, you risk burning a hole in the piston.
