Not applying this year maybe next.I usually go up to Riding mountain for moose and elk(only been two times there). Our next door neighbor owns 3 quarters right along the park.can go anytime but I just have no interest in moose or elk(now whitetail thats another story).
First time I went three (thats 3) bull elk came out so I popped the biggest.A nice 5x6 not huge but I'm pretty proud of him.Next time was two years ago.We saw two moose at 6 in the morning(one nice one and the other a cow)but being so early in the morning could'nt shoot( now if I was out hunting by Vita................still would'nt shoot)coming back from posting and my brother shot a bull moose that just dropped its antlers.
Maybe next year with the bow.

:beer3: We usually go to G.H.A. 15 - no draw required. Some serious quading required to get in and out ( especially in a wet year with a Moose ). Three of us go, three quads, all Polaris, 225, a Big Boss and mine. We all shoot 30:06, drink Scotch and enjoy the week very much. Two are retired and one poor bugger has to work.. :night: Its most likely the highlight of my year insofar as recreation goes....after all.....thats where I got hooked on this quading thing..... :burnout:

I picked up my hunting application a couple of days ago. I always apply for early season moose in the Ducks for my first choice. I seem to get drawn every second year, soooo this should be the year. Second choice is for the Porcupines. Third choice is late moose for the Ducks. I been hunting the Ducks for about 20 years now. I hunt the north end of the park.
I use a 30-06, but I been awfally tempted to use my muzzleloader. But with only the one shot, I've always chickened out.

Does anyone know when the draw closes? I've always been interested but never gotten around to doing it! Maybe this year if I'm not too late!

The only way to go after Moose in the early season is with a Bow.
