Aim low or you'll over shoot. I remeber doing that all 2 well the first few times i started hunting and a deer would come by my stand and i would always miss, then as i got a litle older i got smater and realized what was happening. Ha,, I remeber the first deer i shot i missed it seven times then i fianly hit him and i was like right mad that i kept missing. (to this day i have never understood why that deer never ran after the first couple shots) I think all my uncles and Cousins where scared after that and wondered why they brought this kid hunting with them for the first time. LOL Now i'm about too start bring my nephew with me and for pay back i think. Should be interesting.

It really depends on how far away the animal is to you. If the animal is out there 200 yards away don't aim any different than if you were on the ground. If the aminal is 50 yards away that is a different story. Actually I've always just aimed were I wanted the bullet to go and never bothered adjusting even at 50 yards, 100 yards or whatever. Maybe I've just been llucky.

I suggest trying it this summer or even this spring B4 the leaves come out, if your stand is in place. Shoot at different ranges, there for at different angles. If your stand isn't up yet or it's too far from home, the other postings are great.

The technical answer is....
the scope is mounted above the barrel of your gun, and the bullet when shot starts low, then crosses the line of sight( approx 20 yards), then drops down to hit target.( 100 yards or more).
the cause of the bullet drop is from gravity so if you are shooting straight down the bullet will continue to travel ABOVE the line of sight for a long time( remember it crosses the line of sight at a pprox 20 yards).
short answer AIM LOW........
:Bang: :hiding:
I just finished reading an interesting article on this. I left it at the lake though. But basically it said you do not adjust your aim as shooting up or down makes little difference on wehere you should aim. Basic triganometry so they say. I'm going to have to bring the magazine back and reread and and see if i can put a copy of what was written up here. .

what are you shooting? a bow out of a tree stand you should aim right at it, cause you should have practiced that type of shot all summer. a rifle doesn't really matter where you aim. 30 yrs of hunting I've shot uphill and down always aimed where I hoped the bullet would end up. Didn't always but also never came home empty handed.
