S240, you have just cut your potential visitors list by 80%. I'd wrestle a Grizzley naked and for free as opposed to dealing with a rattlesnake.

Years ago, I ran out of gas in my river/jet boat in a high snake populated area in BC and had to follow a train track for 3 mi. to a town.

I had to go through a 100 yrd long tunnel to get there but knew it would be full of snakes keeping cool. I was almost in tears as I tucked my jeans into my boots. I picked up my fishing rod for protection and started to run.

You've seen a football player high stepping it for the end zone. Well, I can tell ya, they got nothing on me. As I ran, I could hear the rattling and tried to fend them off with my fishing pole. I made it without getting bit but when I got through, my pole was only 4' long. Once again I proved that critters don't like the smell of crap.

Oh ya, I paid a native fisherman $50.00 to drive me back to my boat.

 mongral that is funny . sorry to laugh at you're misfortune but you write it like a comedy. as a kid we used to go catch rattelers in the cow pastures as a way to get ranchers to let us use thier property for fishin' and stuff. we would come home with a gunny, (no pun or implication to any body here) sack full and cook them up. if you like frog legs you would like snake. diped in soy and roasted over a fire on a willow stick with a little pepper. we even used to catch little ones live to milk them for anti-venom for hospital. as 1 of oure moms worked at hospital and got the steril jars. we used a fishin' pole with a wire like a snare to catch them. you just brougt back some great childhood memories thanks:yes:

That's why I like where I live. little snakes with no teeth and no dark places unless you are looking for them.
