Good day
Didn't know where to post this so I'm trying here. Anyone have a Vermont Casting BBQ? If so how do you like it and are they worth it? I'm thinking about getting one but would like to hear from someone who has one.

Never had one but checked out their website and they look sweet. I would imagine they are the same quality as the Napoleon BBQ's which look to be very well made.

We do, with the 4 burners as well as a rotisserie and side burners. Night light and lighted dials. I absolutely love using it, super easy to maintain temperature, very even cooking. It has a feel of quality to the dials and lid that I appreciate. I bought a new BBQ for the lake at Rona and last weekend was complaining about the small size, the fact the flame went out twice, and that I "miss my Vermont Castings..." lol. I would and will replace the lake BBQ with one when it wears out... normally we seem to replace in about 3-4 years due to rusted burners and racks...POS... The VC is already on its second year and expect many many more.
I've got a friend out here at the lake that's had one for as long as I can remember... his family swears by it... I've eaten many a meal off that bbq & from what I've seen, it cooks better than any other bbq I've ever used. If you buy one & you need help testing it out let me know - I'd be glad to make sure the steaks taste good!!! LOL...
I've had a VC BBQ for almost 6 years now and absolutely love it. Heats up well, HEAVY duty grates, no flare ups, burners still good (although the mounts holding them to the "frame" are rusted). Burners guaranteed for 10 years and if there is a problem with them, just go into the place where you bought it with the serial number and they'll give you the replacements. Not a cheap purchase, but you do get what you pay for. My 2 cents...

I have a VC BBQ and love it as well. I will point out 2 items worth considering that my particular VC BBQ did not come with.
1.) I highly recommend a stainless steel grill, it will last longer, clean better, and the meat will not stick to it as badly if not fully cooked before flipping.
2.) If you like to BBQ a lot in the winter the heat will not contain itself inside the closed lid as well as some other brands.
Their newer models may combat these issues but my BBQ is approx 6 years old as well. The only other BBQ that I know of that deals with these 2 issues is a Webber. Either choice and you can't go wrong.

I have a 2 year 6 burner model and I can tell you that in the dead of winter there is more heat than you could ever need or want @ -40 it will hold the heat at 500 degrees no problem on high. Just make sure you have an extra tank nearby. I would also suggest the griddle as an option great for onions, veggies etc. makes great pancakes 2. I had weber in the past but the vermont is by far the best BBQ i have ever owned

Sorry but that word "Rum" scares me away. Nasty stuff, when I was young I tried it many times but it always made me sick.LOL So as I matured I have learned to leave it alone.(Don't even like the smell of it anymore). I now drink rye, beer or anything but rum.

I bought one about six weeks ago following a lot of research. Its was between the webber or the VC. The VC is simply a quality piece of kit. I love it.
The only thing I once noticed (again its only been six weeks or so) is that on a real windy day I was sturggling to keep up the temp. It was real windy but I remember being disappointed.
Apart from that once, its been awesome. I love it.
And beleive it or not, the place with the best prices by $100 notes or so was Home Depot. No one else could compete. Never thought I'd make a purchase like that there but there you go.
One other thing to think about is that VC is well on its way to bust. There is some concern about availability of parts in the future but in the end I still bought it because its just such a nice piece of kit. I'm just hoping someone takes over the parts end of the business should they actually go under.
