Any 15 inch or bigger car or truck rim works great. Just make sure its tide to a rope.Still missing a rim in clear water lake. LOL

Camoman,
Bowhunter picked up a new *Digger*anchor at the Fishin hole a couple of weeks ago. We were using it that weekend we did all that cat fishin,,and man, it worked like a dream! Pricey, but well worth the coin...

What was the digger worth at the fishin hole? I was thinking of one of those but I heard the Richter was a better all around anchor..

How about poo LOL!!!! Sorry had to do that, my dad has one of the anchors that has the flat fins that folds aout and hock's in to the bottom of the lake works really good.

Thanks!

I was also going to say that I have been using the minkota anchor for a few years and it really doesn't hold the boat all that well. I have also split one and my current one has a hole in it (plastic anchor).

try a river anchor they are designed to keep you in place in high current or waves 20-30lbs

don't know any manufacturers, but the best type of anchor is a "wedge block anchor". they work by digging realling deep into the river or lake bed and they're easy to pull out afterwards.

they're small and light enough that you can strap one to the front of your machine and they work REALLY well as a winch point for your quad if there's no trees near by.

$109.00 for that?? :no:Tell Dwight to talk to me next time he feels like getting something as simple like that to make. I could have saved him at least 50% if we made it at the shop and save the $$$ drive into WPG:action-smiley-075:....come to think of it I'll make one for myself...I need something better than what I have as well.

I use 28lb navy anchors on my 20ft Triton but have always had troubles in the really rough stuff holding. I was out with a buddy and he was using one of those dropnstay's. I was amazed and ordered two of them. Now I see they have a different version for anchoring straight off the front without going through the bow eye. Suck I have to pay for shipping again but these things are worth their weight in gold. I will let you know how I like this other version when I get a chance to use it.

I second the Drop-n-Stay. After watching that video, I ordered two and love them. Now they have a different version for anchoring straight off the bow. I just wish that one would have been available when I ordered the first two, could have saved me the $6.00 shipping. I will let you know how I like the "deuce" when it arrives.
