Hope this video turns out.For you sqeemish it does show the kill shot so just forwarning.
Jean Paul 30-06 and I set up our first bear bait on my property.Also set up a trail cam and saw this guy come in in the pics.He passed up a couple others so that he could get this big guy.Shot him at about 12 yards with his recurve bow.

great looking bear, looks like it should go at least 19" or more. it also looks like it has a brown tint to it if the sun hits it right. were do you hunt? i hunt in the rossburn area. thanks for the pictures :cheers:

We decided to try south of St.Malo.I think anywhere theres big bush there should be bears.They green scored him at just over 20" but with the 60 day drying period it hopefully goes 20".Now gonna have some bear steak on the BBQ.
You have monsters out there Punch.My neighbors own land near Rossburn,right along the park and would love to try baiting for Brute bears but too far a drive to hunt.

yes there can be some big boys around there...i have 4 now that are 19 plus, all taken with archery....looking for a new place now, the old boy were i hunt doesn't like you baiting on his land, hunted there for 16 years.

He was by himself and was trying to set up his camers too take the pics so its pretty hard to do it by yourself at night so he didn't notice the tongue hanging out....and I don't really see how it would "fuel" anti hunters.

to tell you the truth i was terrified the first few times i went. i still get butterflies in the gut when i walk in or walk out and the sun light if fading..... but i will tell you what,, if you try it once you will be hook, it is an awesome adrenalin rush to just see them and be close to them...:cheers:

You would be amazed at how close you can get, and as for guts, you don't have to get close to him, :sweatdrop: let him get close to you. Just don't move till he focuses on the food in the drum. I can hardly wait till we start baiting again.
