Pictures of tracks in the bog / muskeg

Trip into remote camp use for hunting. Tracks were un stopable in the bog and rough as hell on rocky terrain. You have to go very slow on hard terrain.

I am not planning on using them in the summer. I just wanted try them out in some difficult terrain.

Pictures took July 29 2010 in central Newfoundland Canada.

Yes they are great in the bog. I towed my brother-in-law's Quad through the bad spots and he was towing a trailed loaded with 3/4 plywood and lumber. Unbleaveable pulling power that 700 FI with tracks.

I can't wait for the snow to come now. The coyotes better run for cover this winter!lol

Cool

Looks good Sleddoctor. Can't wait for Camoplast to come up with a fix for their tracks, cause they are the only ones suppling mounting kits for my brand machine. But when they do, Whooo- hooooooooo. LOL Tracstar

NIBS will become famous soon enough

Being from the Island myself I知 hoping that the bogs will become off limits to motorized vehicles, at least till Winter sets in. Though the tracks do less harm than tires, bogs are torn apart by ATVs. These bogs are a filter for a lot of fresh water that runs into the lakes, ponds and rivers across the Island. Even crossing them on foot has an impact. I知 not a Green Peace type but do believe in protecting the land and water we have back home. It値l take decades for the bog to repair itself after that damage.

Glad to see you enjoyed your trip and the tracks though Sleddoctor. I drove over to NL a few weeks back and on up through Gros Morne to the Northern Pen. Though I知 from up that way and have been back many times since, it still takes my breath away to see the beauty of it. I知 hoping to go back for a Moose hunt at some point. Saw seven on my trip over.

Well actually they are off limits to atv. This camp been there since the 60's. we only go there once or twice a year. There is no damage done by us as we are the only ones going there. We respect the enviroment we travel in and you can never tell we were there the next time we go.

The muddy bog spots i was in was creating by mining companies under special permits.

But i agee with you. in areas of heavy use the damage is unsightly.
