Alberta Farmer Convicted of shooting would be thief

seen this on the news and thought i would share it

A farmer in central Alberta learned he would have to serve a dramatically reduced sentence, after he was convicted of shooting a man – who was trying to steal from him.
Brian Knight, a Tees-area farmer, was charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, for shooting a would-be thief with bird-shot in March 2009.
The man was one of three, who were trying to steal a quad from Knight’s property at the time.
In October 2011, Knight was sentenced to 90 days in jail, to be served on weekends.
However, the Alberta Court of Appeal ruled the punishment was unfit – and changed Knight’s sentence.
Now, Knight must complete 50 hours of community service and will be on probation for three months.

That really gets my goat. I love this country, but our justice system needs to be fixed.

When you are protecting your property and family there should be no charges maybe a medal for taking care of business. If we dealt with these fine folks that like to steal in aan appropriate manner thieving would drop drastically. That desire to own our property would disappear!!!!!!!!!!

Two important points to remember.

1. Shoot the thief head on, don't let him turn and run. Shots to the back don't look good in the courts eyes

2. Shoot to kill. One story is always better than two

Crazy stuff. How hard is it to find someone looking for medical attention on a severed finger. Lazy Cops who want special treatment but only treat their position as a job get no respect from me. We had a home invasion as a kid and the cops investigated me for breaking into my own house and breaking my own stuff. Genuis! We need to press for the legal right to defend ourselves and our property.
