MACHINE SPECIFICS

***All machines will be inspected on race day to ensure accuracy of description.
Westman ATV reserves the right to assign and re-assign stock or modified designations on all entries.

Snorkels, minor clutch work, strengthened or aftermarket axles and shafts, relocated radiators, and under-belly skid plates are not considered "Modified" machines.

Large mud tires, body alterations (such as removed foot-wells and body cut outs), large lift kits, crush-locked wheels, NOS, and deviations from factory sized engines are considered "Modified."

Both Stock and Modified classes can be entered with the same machine, provided the necessary conditions are met to qualify for each category. There should be enough time to swap tires between these heats.

Just to clarify the rules, where do these items fall into:

1. Full bolt on exhaust
2. Slip on exhaust
3. What size is "large" mud tires? 29.5 and up, 28 and up?? My definition of large and everybody elses might be different
4. VP race fuel
5. XMR's and MudPro's are considered modified from factory correct?

I just don't want to show up and only be allowed to compete in King of the Mud, so am I to understand that there will be a Modified class as well as King of the Mud for our bikes that have these modifications? It would be a long drive just to race once.

From what I gathered and from what we discussed in our meetings:

In terms of tires, anything considered a true "mud tire" will be classed as modded. (Outlaws, Outlaw 2's, Silverbacks, Mambas, MudZilla's, etc).....
Bighorns, Mudlights, rockers, growlers, ITP 589's, etc... would still fit in stock class.

XMr's and MudPro's would be considered modded, mostly due to the tires. Same with any $22,000 rig bought from Piney's.
If you wanna put Dunlops on your Factory bought MudPro or XMr and try the stock class I suppose that's cool....(and entertaining!!)

The real Definition of "modded" for the most part is anything happening in the engine or major body alterations. Big Bore Kits, Cams, Alternative Fuels, Nitrous, Larger than 2" Lift Kits, no wheel wells, etc.
Clutch kits and springs, exhaust of any kind, rims, spacers, seats, Storage boxes, still stock.

So short answer to you PinkRev, your rig can compete in modded 751+ class as well as King/Queen of the mud......unless of course your spark plugs mysteriously go missing right before you're due to race

Some clarification. Any pure mud tire from 25" - 32" will put you in the mod class. XMR comes with silverbacks - a pure mud tire. The mudpro comes with 28" zillas - a mudish tire. To me a zilla, XTR, rocker, mudlite are all in the same league. There is no real big difference in performance between. The difference is when you step up to the big boy tires, outlaws, backs, etc.

The stock class I would say. Stock these days is no longer 25" dunlop tires, they are mudlites, zillas, xtrs, etc. So its all fair.

If we have enough entries in each class we may expand the classes but we will need about 50-70 atvs for that to happen. This is going to be a great mud bog with an obstacle course that has mud in it as well.

We are trying to keep everything competitive. Having someone with 27" mudlites races a guy with 27" outlaws is not going to be fair so we drew the line at pure mud tires since all the lesser tires are fairly equal.
