Old Skool Arcade Machine

Hey all,

i'm just fixin to spend some game money on my jamma arcade machine. I currently have Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Super Contra, Double Dragon 1, Double Dragon 2, Pac Man.

I'm gonna get Mortal Kombat 1, Mortal Kombat 2, NBA Jam (hopefully TE) and Snow Bros.

So, what other great games are there for my arcade machine? I thought about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the arcade. What did you play? What was great, and what was not? Help me out please!

Oh, and my machine is two joysticks and 6 buttons per side so no or games for now.

thanks in advance

I remember in my youth going to Magicland on Portage so I wouldn't have to keep pumping quarters into Gauntlet and Gauntlet II. :)

Bosconian, battle zone, berzerk, defender, and time pilot were my favorites. You can probably guess how old I am by these suggestions.

Holy crap, Time Pilot! Good call! Loved that one too. The memory is a bit fuzzy nowadays, y'know?

Ahhh Long John Silvers and Magicland, you guys are bringing back my youth!

One game I liked that came out a bit later was Robotron. The sound of that game did it for me, especially when you levelled up. LOL. Had many games I loved though and still love gaming on my PS3.

Yeah.. I guess he figured a 12 year old would be cool with spending his vid game cash on it... lol... Syd's Carousel back in the old Crossroads Shopping Centre was another hang out too. Great because mom could go shopping at Woolco or Safeway, and I could go and play vids. Good times.

Sorry for the side track SMB.

Damn Duke you hit all my hotspots. We were probably rubbing shoulders playing games. LOL.

Can't forget Donkey Kong! Another one I really liked but was one of the first to be 50 cents or a buck(can't remember) was Dragon's Lair. Lost a lot of money playing that.

I remember when LJS at KP first got Dragon's lair in, later Space Ace... yeah I lost a lot on them too. They were a buck a game, probably because being laserdisc based with players that were mostly designed for playing movies and not extended run times in an arcade game they needed the cash to keep repairing them lol

Not sure how to build it, there's a lot of tiny little wires inside mine! but I'm pretty sure you can buy an old cabnet for not too much dough. I think the popularity has dropped and that brought down the price.

Bubble bobble was actually pretty fun.

I found a guy who has the golden tee golf board and the table top roller ball that looks interesting. I'll just have to find out how much of a pain it is to swich out the joystick top for the roller ball top.

Thanks again for all the game titles
