We pay enough in taxes as it is for the stupidity of others. :P
Yep. I agree. Texting while driving I'm cool with. Even though I used to do it before the law came into effect.
It's the talking on a cell phone while driving being illegal that I don't agree with. But I won't get into that.

I'd be just as glad if the cell phone providers just did away with the whole text thing anyway, and install a GPS program in the cell phones to not work while in motion

but that would make sence, and profit over rules sence now a days........

Doing away with texting?
Why? It's a great way to communicate.

Stopping usage while moving?
Really?
So if I'm riding in a vehicle I can't use my phone? That's just silly.

No offense, but that's taking things way to far.

Some people can't walk and talk at the same time. I almost run into a young girl (20's) who was walking down the bike path on the wrong side, no big deal I'l just go on the other side. Then she wanders over to my side, and she was just walking but obviously not paying attention. ( and yes I was riding a bicycle ) She wasn't talking, texting just obviously distracted.

Well ya know, I don't really... unless one were to f*** with my family. But remember I worked in a north end bar for 7 years. You NEED patience and a slow fuse to do that. lol

Actually that reminds me of the time before last that my wife renewed her contract. I asked her if she wanted a texting plan on it. She gave me the gears about why would she need to text someone and if she wants to talk to them she'll just phone them. 6 months later - she's a texting queen all of a sudden. She doesn't have a data plan and it's been several months since she last renewed, but if she comes up to me one day and says she wants data I'ma go ape s*** on her. lol

I agree with SA800 though, it is a great way to communicate, at least for short messages (it is called SMS after all - Short Message Service). For example, when I'm at work and busy or on the phone and my wife wants me to pick up some stuff on the way home, she sends me a text of what to get then when I have a moment I read it. There is a convenience about being able to address communications at leisure rather than having to rely on real-time. It's also way faster than checking voicemail.

I agree with you Duke, I would rather read a text than retrieve a voicemail for just a quick note. We use HeyTell" also.

off-road man will become famous soon enough
Distraction

Sorry guys but after reading this I have to rant! I work for a large company and between myself and the rest of my crew we put alot of seat time from northern Alberta to eastern Manitoba, we see it all the time people driving that almost cause an accident and guess what pass them and they are either texting still or talking! Then there are the peds, I have seen myself prob 6-12 near misses of peds walking out in front of vehicles texting, talking or ipod in ears. Now I text, have ipod and talk on the cll alot , but not while driving or walking in busy areas. We have had a company wide policy for quite some time now not only on cell phone usage but all personal electronic devises. We all were pissed when it came into place but after it became law and we started watching and seeing others still doing it and all the close calls, it is unreal!!! Don't think we need another law but ya AWARENESS. If someone texting etc hit one of my kids there would be a $%%# of alot more comin than a right hook!

Really ?

so, you think all these texting and driving accidents are worth a text message ?

I'd do without texting in a heartbeat rather than lose my life to a on coming driver reading/sending " get milk " text

texting is great if done correctly....but deadly while driving, maybe one day people will get it and pull over, but we all see it everyday, cars hitting the shoudler or crossing into your lane because of texting, but could be worse i guess....

Cheers !

What I'm saying is not everyone in a moving vehicle is driving. I text all the time while riding in a car. So if phones disabled when in a car, or while moving, I, as a passenger, would be shit outta luck. Which is stupid.

There's already a law against it. Nothing else they can do except ticket people.

The day you get my texting device, is the day you pry it from my cold, dead hand. (Hopefully I wasn't driving or lying drowned in a fountain. Jk)

Edit: or was that the remote. I can't remember. Lol
