Wow that's crazy!

And I though $12 was insane! I'm just gonna get a bunch when I'm in the states. $6 a can.

Anyone have an idea on how many cans it would take to do a front bumper on a truck? 1 or 2?

Get two just in case, but probably only 1. Depends how many coats you do.
Always get more thank you think you need. Cause if you don't need it all for one project, guaranteed you'll find something else to use it on.

I'd get 2.

The thicker it is the easier it is to peel off if you want plus the thicker coats will hold up better from rocks and stones.

HAs anyone tried to paint their plastics with this stuff yet? I am giving it some serious though to turn the rhino into a black machine instead of the camo just for a change. I like the fact that it should just peel right off when I am tired of it.

Anyone got some pics of atv plastics painted?

thx MB

Nope. Doesn't peel on its own. I though it would since it's so easy to remove, but it doesn't. Even holds up to pressure washers.

Plasti DIP is an air dry, synthetic rubber coating that can be easily applied by spraying, brushing or dipping. Plasti DIP resists moisture, acids, abrasion, weathering, electrical shock, skidding/slipping, corrosion; coats and gives a comfortable, controlled, color coded grip to all types of tools; lawn and garden, mechanical, electrical, woodworking and masonry. Plasti DIP can also be applied to:
Wood: seals and protects from weathering and prevents splinters.,
Metal: reduces vibration, deadens sound, prevents corrosion, insulates electrically and from extreme temperatures.
PlastiDip will last a very long time. We always suggest a minimum of 4-5 coats. We've seen wheels, grilles, ect dipped for over 1 a year without having to be touched up. Unless there is a specific event that damages the PlastiDip, it will hold up great and keep it's finish. It is very durable and will not lose it's bond.

Won't be worth it. At all.
Unless you are sneaky and don't ship it as what it actually is.

Well I started my holidays today, and was eager to do a test run on my tunnel. I removed my seat and did it there in case it didnt look good.
I cleaned it with just soap and water and dried it. I didnt even worry about the oxidation ( if I had to buff everything and then do this I didnt know if I was going to go through all that work to prep it.)
Did one coat about 8" square let dry and applied a second coat and let it dry for 30 minutes. I was worried it would have a matte finish to it but it did have some lustre to it. Not glossy like the plastics but shiny enough not to look out of place.
I took a putty knife to get it started and it peeled right off. No harm no foul.
This was only 2 coats and it was pretty good. I would definitely do more of course for the real project. I am going to put even more layers on the tunnel by the footwells becasue I can see the stickers wearing off so I know that is a wear spot.
It coated pretty well for just 2 coats, didnt see through it, so more coats will be even better. I assume it will take at least 1 can for sure and maybe even 2 full cans with the thicker coats I want to apply.
I will take pics of the progress and post.
Off to go and clean the tunnel up and start masking off.

I just did the mirrors on my truck, it looks great and I will be doing the tunnel on my sled. Way easier than polishing it.

There's a couple ads on kijiji right now, not worth going to the states for at all IMO. To save a significant amount of money you would have to buy quite a bit. http://winnipeg.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...AdIdZ392664568

I'm not going for plasti dip lol.
But when I'm down there I'm getting a bunch anyways.
Pay $5 whil on mini vacation, or pay $13 back home.
Easy choice :P
