I wouldn't say rough country is one of the better ones from what I have seen. They tend to be cheaper though.

If you want real cheap crank those front torsion bars up to the max, you might get a couple inches from that. Then swap out the rear axle block to one that is a couple inches bigger. This does tend to be hard on stock length rear shocks however.

Pretty much any lift is going to hurt ride quality and handling. Those years F-150 could be cranked up and behave not too bad. Be sure to have an alignment done after whatever method or kit you use.

My 98 f150 didn't ride bad with my torsion bars cranked. Definitely smoother than my f350 now.

That's cause it was a Chevy lol.

My ranger I have em cranked an I notice no difference in harshness or smoothness. Just a higher front end.

As Goethe rear. Don't to bigger blocks.
Lift blocks are such a bad idea. do shackles, or add a leaf.

Really? When he only needs a couple more inches in the rear to match the cranked up front. It's not like he is adding 6" of block, and likely is not pushing big HP either. Most 4" kits he would be looking at would use blocks as well. Obviously it is not optimal as you go up in size, but it is practical for most people doing mild lifts.

Big blocks on their own suck, 2" blocks though is a non issue. Traction blocks solve the problem of big blocks though. http://www.oneupoffroad.com/ouoprodu...ionblocks.html
