Damn. I really would love to do this one. Unfortunatly Neverenuff and myself will be in northern MB on a 2.5 day quadding/camping trip in the bush.

I'll make sure I'm available for your next Tannis lake adventure

Sooner, rather than later, I will get on this ride !!

Enjoy !!!

Hi Tony it is defiantly SxS friendly.

As for a two wheel drive sport quad I would say no. We did have a sport quad on this ride last year and they did have trouble at some points, they ended up getting pulled a lot. At one point they just stayed on the rope and pulled it down the trail.

Just tell Rose she will have to ride shotgun for this one or maybe she will make you ride shotgun.

Tannis lake

Is it a one way, one day ride or is everyone riding back. Is there fuel once there. What accomodations are there for an overnighter?

We will be staging for the ride at Tannis Lake Ont, the group will be meeting in the morning and traveling out as a group from Richer across from the Husky gas station. I myself will already be out there as myself and Darlene will be camping out there for the weekend. There is no gas or services out there so bring extra fuel and water with you for the trail.

Here is a map to the Tannis Lake from Richer, remember the group is meeting at Richer for 8:00 AM and traveling out as a group. This is just to give you a map as to where we will be staging for the ride.

rumley... I have tonnes of GPS tracks (garmin gdb) of the area. If you want drop me a pm with an e-mail addy and I can e-mail to you.

Collect over the years hunting, snowmobiling, etc.. so would warn that without the right equipment some may be a very hard go of it.

Back in the 50's - 60's my father used to hand draw the lakes, paths, etc.. free hand mostly for snowmobiling and fishing. Now with GPS and sat maps it makes it so much easier.

PM send, thanks Boakley !

Times have sure changed, we are so spoiled with all our electronic toys and gadgets today. I depend so much on my GPS for tracking when traveling the back country, maybe a little too much at times. LOL

e-mail sent.. hope they create some value. i think in total I had 40 tracks on the area. Some maybe not pasable anymore as who knows how kind the years have been to some of those trails. Not many riders anymore to keep a lot of those trails open. for sure more of our time was spent in winter in that area. I took out the joining stuff that was obvious like crossing the lakes and bigger swamps. Ride on... and at the end of the day when completely lost I turn the GPS on to find a way home... have fun... wish I could attend.

Tannis Lake

Srry, my initial understanding was that the quad ride was from Richer to Tannis Lake. Are there cabin rentals there?

There are no cabins out there to rent, the closest place would be West Hawk Lake. Not sure how easy they are to get this time of the year tho.
