New AC Sled Pricing

Just came back from MN and checked out some pricing on new sleds. Thought I would share what the dealer was offering. (and he knew I was a Canadian) No MN State tax if I signed a paper saying I was taking the sled to North Dakota.

2012 ProCross XF800 $8050
2012 F800 LXR $7800
2012 SnowPro 600 $5900

any experienced buyers out there that can advise if these prices were good/bad/indifferent?

never bought a Cat before but pricing seemed attractive from what my buddy was telling me.

Not bad prices but they are leftovers and have no warranty here. Do all the figures and i'll bet you won't be saving as much as you think. 20% depreciation 1st year etc. Full retail on that xf8 was around 12,300. So cash price when current would have been around 11,500 or so, plus some CAT CASH, warranty etc. Sorry if i'm burst your bubble.

many do. Especially if you have an address (Friend/Business) that you can use in the US.

Never for AC but for many other brands of power toys/tractors because I work for a company that has US offices so I just use one of our US offices and my name (or one of the guys I know in the office to use their addy for the warrenty paperwork).

For warrenty they said no problems I would just have to bring it back to them for warrenty work. They would honour it because the warrenty card would be to to a person/business with US address. They are service oriented / friendly folks and could tell they wanted to look after their customers. They did not have a hate on for Canadians nor did they want to disadvantage. Very clear they just wanted to make good business. AND they gave us a free hotdog to boot as they were having a staff BBQ for lunch.

Common knowledge that Canadian AC dealers likely not willing or not able to make the work. For reasons discussed to death over the years here.

The sleds I looked at were brand spanking new.

So looks like pricing was very good. That is all that I was trying to accomplish... not at all interested in getting into or starting a contest about warrenty as there is easy ways around this issue, or poorer shape machines as new is new, or about buying Canada vs. US. Just asking about pricing.

Not wanting to get into those arguments of Candian jobs, warrenty, quality of build as those topic been beat to death many times over.

Thanks all for the comments.... appreciate it.
