Yeah do lots of coats. 4-5 I'd go for the tunnel.
I read somewhere about someone who did theirs and used grip tape where the boots rub.

Thanks for the input guys... Just got back from Menards and they only have black... Picked up 2 cans to run full blackout try'll this winter. If successful will try and source out colors and do it with some style. If it fails... Plan B, buff and pollish (repeat)x3 till its a mirror. Tired of oxidized aluminum.

Now go to YouTube and type in "dip yourcar" and watch some of his videos.
Good learning tool.

2 cans used for 2 spindals and 2 steering rods. probably could have done it with 1 can, but i wanted it thick on the spindals. might also do in behind the arms on the bulkhead area. seems good but time will tell, feels like handles on tools. if anything it tells me what it looks like with black powder coating, which is what i was planning to do. bought the plasti coat from piston ring.

So after about 400 miles and its just like it was painted yesterday. I do have to touch up the tunnel where my boots rub and I am going to put a clear vinyl on it to prevent this from happening again. The foot wells show some wear but I expected that. Easy to touch up. The rest is mint.
