Think I might be in love!!!!

This is a JR Carbine rifle, it comes in 9mm, .40 and .45 cal. All of which are pistol rounds. It comes with a collapsible stock and (in Canada) with a 19" barrel therefore putting it in a NON RESTRICTED category, which means a couple things, A.) my gun club doesnt allow restricted rifles (example, the AR-15), this one is no problem, since it is a NON Restricted rifle. B.) I dont need my ATT to take it anywhere, so I could technically use it for hunting or hobby shooting NOT on a gun range, like up at the hunt camp if I wanted. C.) I already have a 9mm and .45 cal hand gun, and reloading is going to start within the next couple weeks, so shooting it will be relatively inexpensive.

My only question now is this, should I go with the 9mm or the .45???? And how do I talk the wife into another gun purchase LOL????

I was debating buying one as well in either 9mm or .40 S&W as I reload for both already, and for basically the same reasons you mentioned.
But I am now leaning toward a CZ858 as it still fits all of those requirements AND provides better long range (relatively speaking) performance.
Keep us posted !

Well depends what you are using it for. I mean 9 or 45 is a pretty big difference. For a camp gun for bears and other critters i would go with 45 cause a 9mm takes way too many shots to stop a pig. When we were working in San Jose had a cop stopping traffic and he started talking guns to my co-worker but he didnt like guns so pointed him to me. Cop says do you know how useless these 9mm are? He went to a buddys hunting farm to take a wild hog with his issued sidearm. Was amazed how many times he shot that hog and it still was coming at him. Now i know what a 45acp will do. Had both back in the day.

Interesting jeepster, I wonder if a 9mm pistol round would have done better on the hog had it been fired with a rifle?
I'm still torn between the 9mm and the 45 acp......

BIGSTEALTH, not sure on the Kel Tech Sub 2000 but all 3 variations of the JR Carbine are $899 plus shipping (free shipping at some gun shops)

I think it takes Glock mags. Do you already have any?

I'd just get it in whatever is your favorite pistol cal. Maybe 9mm because it will hurt less when you lose brass in the grass.

The Kel Tech is $600.00....

9mm would be cheaper to shoot than a 45....

You can get 30 shot mags as well......

30 shot mags, in what country do we live? It would have to be shooting 22 rimfire to have a 30 shot mag and be legal. 10 shots would be the best you could hope for, if, it uses pistol mags.

The SR9 was supposed to be my first pistol and when I finally got my RPAL no one in Canada had one in stock, and as far as I know, they are still few and FAR between, so I got the S&W M&P9 instead, love it, its a great gun.

Now its an addiction.......

On a factory load it would be a little better, not much. The bullet will be coasting down the end of the barrel. You're also throwing a lighter chunk of lead. A good load that can keep the burn on a little longer is where you'll see improvements. But do the same to the .45 and you've got the best of both worlds.

:) Paid for this beaut today, its a few months old, only 200 rounds through it and comes with the 3x9 scope, the folding fore grip and the main tool required for switching it from left hand shooting to right hand shooting as well as 1 Glock magazine. Got a smokin deal on everything, now I gotta play the damn waiting game till it gets here

It is the JR Carbine 9mm, NON Restricted semi auto, should be a fun addition to my new addiction

Keep your eyes open. I have an all black SR9 and a S&W M&P 9 that may hit the classifieds very soon.
Both like brand new, not a scratch and extra mags as well.

Already got the S&W in the safe LOL, I wanted the 2 tone SR9 but no one had one anywhere in Canada so I had to go to the M&P 9 instead.

Traded my 2 tone for an all black one. To me, the 2 tone made even the slightest scratch jump out at you. I like keeping my toys like brand new
