Stripped threads on oil pan HELP

So I am excited to get the bike ready for next weekend and I thought it was a good day to change the oil and I stripped the threads and now have a leak. my dealer says I need a "time-sert" I like to know what size and if I can buy a kit in the Brandon area and the inserts so I can get up and going again for the weekend. It's a 2011 outlander 650
Thanks

A year ago i stripped my oil pan used a heli coil to fix it works great no troubles so far. I would check Brandon Bearing i think they sell heli coils not too sure about time-serts.

if you are not experianced using sert's/coils are you sure this is something you even want to consider trying on your own? especially on your engine oil drain plug.

No disrespect but you stripped out your oil pan plug.... putting thread repair is a little more advanced than re-installing an oil plug.

Only reason I mention is if you get it wrong the downside is dropping all your oil on a trail and potential of running your engine dry / frying it. A big ticket bo-bo for sure.

Maybe this repair is worth having someone experienced make the work?

Just a friendly suggestion as would hate to read a monday post saying the re-thread failed and now need to re-build the engine.

Maybe drop your skid plate and see if the plug goes into a mounting plate ,on the cats and suzuki engines you can remove a plate and the plug is in the plate.

You can either get a heli coil or what some do is retap the hole one size bigger 1/2x20,then they get a 1/2x20 magnetic drain plug and good to go.Some get the drain plugs from harley.

Time-Sert was M12 x1.5 and i believe BRP sells them...
