Jim Schellenberg is in Mitchell, 326-1890. I work with his son and have heard some unreal stories about Jim's work. There is a post on TS about this previously as a recommendation too (http://www.trackshare.com/forum/arch...hp?t-7803.html)

What do you need and on what type of pistol? Several guys around are good with 1911s and I know a guy who is pretty handy with CZs.

I have a custom 1911 colt model 70 in need of a new barrel it bulged yesterday(for the life of me I have no idea how). the big issue is it has a comp on the front and the sight is on the comp not the slide, so I cant just replace the barrell.

So you want to keep the compensator? If so I'd probably send the whole works to Gunner in BC. armco-guns.com

It has been a couple of years ago when I was at his shop. I presume he is still in business, but I don't know.

MudChucker: What do you need done?

Lots of the IPSC guys are really handy with 1911's for anything along the lines of parts replacement or minor fitting. Sheldon has a lathe and stuff now too and although I'm not sure how good he is with 1911's some of his other work that I've seen was pretty good. I think Vaslov(sp?) still does work too but again not sure how into 1911s he is - he a CZ man.

Gunner is still the man for really detailed stuff or serious machining though.
