Liberty 800 Cleanfire reliability

Polaris riders....

I currently have a 2010 Renegade 1200 that has been super reliable, however, last year I bought my wife a 2012 Polaris Switchback 600 and we both love it...
I'm thinking of selling my 1200, and buying an 800 Switchback....
I'm a little nervous going to an 800 because of the history of older 800's. My question is, how reliable have the new 800's been?

Thanks

2012 800 are bullet proof. I have a SB 800 PRO-R and love it and had not one issue with it... Don't be nervous go on HCS and go under the polaris forums and all the info you want will be there!

2011 and newer 800 clean fires have been outstanding. Awesome running engines and I have never had one apart for anything more than exhaust valve cleaning.

If you go older 800. Make sure you buy cheap with intention of a rebuild, or a tear down and a guy could try one of the "fix" kits out there. They are using a taller piston and a cyl shim to try and add reliability. They flat out haul with a slp single and PCV. The issue is for how long????

I have a 2013 switchback 600, and I totally love this machine. Lots of power and great handling in the deep stuff.

Only heard of one 2011 800 ASSULT that lost compression in both cyl, new top end and was back to norm. Impressive machines, that was hard to type!

bought a new 09 dragon 800 and never had an issue, upgraded to a 2011 switchback assault 800 never had an issue. wife still rides the dragon with over 400 miles on it this winter no issues. Also had 4 friends with dragon 800's and no issues, not sure where these stories bout polaris 800's came from. probably some skidoo nut with a ptek or etec 800, they have issues.

Really? Polaris' are dogs?
Far from it bud.

And did you forget about the recalls on the etec? I wouldn't call that a reliable engine.
Just like I wouldn't call the 2010 an older Polaris a reliable engine.

And don't even get me started on the new cats. What a mess those were.

Anytime a manufacturer changes so much at once there will be issues, doesn't matter what name is on it

The cats were far worse than they should have been.
Yes, first year sleds with new changes probably won't be perfect.
But the cats were beyond what I'd call normal for issues in a first year sled.
i wouldnt buy a 2013 polaris pro rmk either.
