Tracks for my X!

Heyaz Mongol got me excited for tracking and I am in the market for some tracks for my new Commander X...I can get Tatous 4s for 4500 now I weas wondering pros and cons for what's out there ... should I just jump on these or pay the extra for any other kind? I really like the Xgens my brother in law is running on his Outlander but have not seen what the UTV ones can do? Chime in!

I always run what works best, in my conditions and I run the Xgen over the Tatou. Both are excellent systems, but I found the Xgen do perform better in very deep snow and they ride better on hard ground. But you can't go wrong with either, as they will all put a smile on your face

Yeah spoke with Yves at XGEN and where I am at we get quite a few feet of snow so I am leaning towards them

I have the tatous utv 4s tracks on my commander and they have been awesome!! very good in deep snow and are very well built but have also heard good things about xgens so either is good!
If u look at atvtracks.net or call gary or ron they seem to know everything about atv tracks!

ONe of my friend had the Camoplast TATAOU UTv T4S on his rzr polaris last winter... crazy in deep snow, and the handling on the trail is almost like on tire a bit harder but very impressive... my dealer told me they also have a new heavy duty black wheel for this upcoming winter...for me it is by far the choice...i ride their atv version on my quad and have no complian about it! I might switic to UTV...not sure yet

do you guys running the tracks also have power steering?

i'm looking at doing both but wondering if without powersteering its a PITA

not sure what tracks i am going to try out.. have a line on a couple sets of tracks as i am looking for 2 sets for 2 canam commanders.. likely put on a total of 3-400kms so its more just the novelty of having them.. lol

I ran tracks without power steering for a while and u do notice its difficult to steer in the really deep powder but if ur on a trail it doesnt seem much different than tires!
I than put Power steering on my commander and it did make it much more enjoyable to drive especially in the deep powder! I recommend the wicked built unisteer money well spent!

I've had two with tracks without PS and one with. Go for PS for sure. Without, it was like riding a Bow Flex exerciser in the snow.

I always chuckle when the subject of which Tracks are better in deep snow comes up. The Tracks in the winter pic are Camoplast 4S. 99% of the Tracks from other makes would perform the same.

The bottom of the sign in summer photo is approx. 7-71/2 feet off the ground.

Snow depth & floatation is mostly sales Hype.

Holy crap that is some snow...From my experience thought bike weight lug depth blah blah blah...can make a difference, what I like about the XGENS is the built in suspension in the track itself!
