IMO a plug that fit over the discharge nozzle would work better than on the fit inside. That way it would be harder for mud ect to make getting the thing out in a hurry an issue. Good point on the plug in any case though. How many others here would not think of it and have to learn the hard way to plug it.

I've been considering buying my own backpack pump like what we often use to fight bush fires, and water is always the best thing to put out a fire. But I'm trying to figure out where or how to carry it on my quad I'm kind of thinking about strapping it to the front compartment of my quad somehow when it's grass fire or bush fire season. It will add a fair amount of weight when full but if something sparks up I'd be able to get on top of it much quicker. Also thinking of making some kind of mount for a short handle spade too. Might seem silly and probably look silly but when you need it's not so silly. lol

Just remember to carry a shovel at least those CO2 and dry chemical extinguishers don't always work that great on brush or grass fires, with water at least you can cool down the fire and soak into the base of the fire either that or you can try and bury it with a shovel.

I'm trying to figure out a way to carry a shovel and an extinguisher on my quad have any of the other Polaris drivers figured out how to mount either on the back of they're quads? Mine is a 2011 Polaris Sportsman H.O. 500 I have noticed on the back of mine by the storage compartment are a set of frame rails that have predrilled holes for mounting things would these be strong enough to clamp a spade too? And I'm toying with the idea of finding a used water extinguisher like this one my brother used to have one and was able to recharge it with a bicycle pump as it had the same valve stem as a tire and the top simply unscrews. Seems kinda silly I know but with how dry and crispy it's been I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Those holes in the frame are for a rear bumper so a spade should be no problem. I put my extinguisher right up front and easy to get. A piece of 3" angle iron and a few "U" bolts.

Yeah that's a nice mount, sadly I don't have a front rack like that, kinda wish I did instead of the crappy little cargo box on the front. What's a good clamp to hold a shovel or axe or maybe even both? And where would I get one?

I have a gerry can filled with water stored in my rear storage seat and I mounted two gun holders mounted on my rear rack behind the seat. I'll post pics soon.

A friend of mine said he'd weld a bracket that'll attach to the back of my machine so I could mount a set of Rhino grip type gun holders so I can bring an axe or spade with me, just wondering who sells them at a decent price?
This is what I'm looking for http://www.exploreproducts.com/kolpi...rack-21505.htm |
