Would it not have been more efficient to helicopter everything over? You're a tiny pull from the landing, the only issue would be getting the mini there. But you would have maintained your start date easily.

Not really. The mini is needed to start all the foundation work. They will be excavating down to bedrock so there is a lot of material to move. So once the foundation is set then we can get the material for the building and concrete over.

The pictures of the barge do not do it justice.
You could put 4 mini ex's on it that thing is huge!
I did some work on it while it was at Black Bear.
For the cost of it you could have bought a helicopter, LOL!

Are you pouring piles to bed rock then a continuous footing with pony walls or are you saying the whole perimeter will be excavated to bed rock?

The helicopter's efficiency is that it takes material directly off the truck to exactly where you want it on site. Just unhook it and a couple minutes later another lift shows up. Concrete is the same thing, a truck dumps it in the hopper at the landing and it zips over and you place it right into the forms with no wheelbarrows or 5 gallon pails. At the end of the day though some sites it will work better and others it won't.

Hopefully you have it for next summer, it will be worth it.

who did you hire to do the foundation work, test digs, etc.

I have a foundation issue at my place in Northern Ontario that needs to be looked at.

The last conversation i had with him, I believe they were going to excavate down to bedrock to pin the piles to it. At 8-9 feet at the front it is a lot of material to move.

It won't be bad with the barge. they will be able to load an unload piles directly from the barge to property and not have to unstrap anything using the machinery.

The foundation is being done by the contracting firms employees from M&L general contracting. I don't believe they do smaller jobs only larger projects. ie new construction or reno's. Their projects range from 100G-10mil.

This where the loader sunk not a good day delivering concrete.

Pile locations surveyed and set.

after the first october storm

Garage took a ride, ripped out of the ground flew about 100 feet back then a tree fell on it.

Back up, no pieces lost, it's semi straight.

Concrete has arrived

Building materials have arrived
roof trusses arrived
