Thinking of getting gopro

What's the difference between the motor sports hero kit and the helmet hero? Other than price anyway? I'm just looking through the royal distributing catalogue and they aren't very good at describing the differences between them, can I use all the same accessories between the 2?

Just google GoPro you can order from their website, most of the difference is the accessories for mounting them. Mind you that could of changed since I bought mine a year and a half ago. They sell them at a variety of places in Wpg. including Sport Check.

There are no differences in camera except there's the regular GoPro Hero and then there's the Hero2. Most places are only selling the 2 now....better resolution, etc. All the various kits are the same camera but come with different mounting attachments. Go to GoPro.com and all the kits are listed there....

The joys if windows software. I had issues with movie maker as well, half the time it would work, half the time it wouldn't.
Thankfully I don't have to deal with it anymore. My suggestion, make sure it's up to date. If it is, and it's not working, you can find a converter that will convert it to a format that will work. If I remember, I'll see which one I have when I get home an post a link for you.

Make sure you have a system for editing these videos....Anything more than a yearold probably won't do it......(in a way that makes it worthwhile doing) Also tons of space is required, I burn up around 5-10 GB per video. I use "Avid Studio Pro" to edit....There are many more suites for editing if you wanna do nice work.
If however you just wanna load up raw footage, slam some ACDC on it and rip 'er to you tube then Movie maker is ok.

Your system is probably bogging down with the file's size, or can't process it fast enough......or maybe some codecs missing for whatever format you have rendered your video in.....

Windows movie maker on windows 7 couldnt edit the gopro footage without converting it. I found that you loose quality of the video in conversion.

I use Adobe premiere Pro CS5 for my editing, works really well, no quality loss

Same problem for me cuz my computer is old.

WinX HD Video Converter works for me. Convert to AVI and edit on Windows Movie Maker. Free 30 day trial.

You can download and install the "k-lite codec mega pack". Should drop everything you need on the system.....no spyware either.

I recently bought a Drift HD camera
so far so good.
does what i need and makes a .MOV file
which is great to edit on my 4-5 year old MacBookPro
bought the motorsports package off ebay for $300.
and a couple of 32G class 10 microSD cards right from China for $20 a piece.
love the remote control and screen to adjust options and review,
setting up the angle being able to view the screen is great.
pros and cons on each, but after doing all the research i went with the drift.

So I got a GoPro hero 3 with battery backpac and 64gb card, tried the avs program and works, what else is out there and what settings do most people use? I tried a short vid from it and not quite happy with the quality I got from it, my computer converts at a decent speed I think, just editing takes forever cuz the file is too large for it to handle properly, converts a 22 min vid from 720p 120 fps to 640x480 divx xvid avi in about 2-3 hrs, hasn't ended yet anyway and I started an hour ago, but I put the program at a higher processor priority to help it go a bit quicker
