Trail Repair Today

BORR along with the Brokenhead Trailblazers Snowmobile club worked together today to repair a severely damaged section of trail entering Mars Hills today. The RM granted permission to do the work, but it was on us to supply the equipment and fill. 120 yards of fill, should go along way to making the trail useable for all users again. Heres a few pics

I'll also add that the RM has helped by leveling this same section of road allowance in the past. Leveling is only good for a short period of time before it gets rutted out again. The only way to try and fix this permanently is to haul fill material. Hopefully it won't turn into a mud hole again next year. Thanks to Mailman and BORR for helping to organize and fund the project!

Did you use any geotextile material in between the fill, or just fill?

Just fill. All expenses incurred are the clubs responsibility, and we can't afford much. Luckily the fill was free from a spot behind the trailblazers clubhouse, and the equipment operators were very generous to us.

It isn't a bottomless bog, so geotextile wasn't really necessary here. Some bigger rock would have been nicer, but beggars can't be choosers!
