Those looking for water are going to be in luck. I drive past the Brokenhead River and #1 on a daily basis and for the first time in a long time the banks are overflowing!!!! Enjoy your ride guys and be safe out there....

Well it looks like it's going to be a great ride tomorrow. I'm planning on riding mostly the fire roads so we can get more riding in then clearing trees. There are a couple of trails that I will be taking us on and we may have to spend some time clearing but the ride on these trails will be worth it. I'm planning on taking a lunch break at the scouts cabin on the Whitemouth River. They have a letrine and fire pit that they allow the use of so I'm thinking we can have a fire and cook lunch. Oh and bring some tp for after lunch lol. It will also be a good idea to bring extra gas as there will be no gas stations along the way. I'm hoping everyone is ready for a long day of great riding. I will be taking us to some gravel pits and a few trails that I know will be a great mud bath with all the rain we have had. If your running late or can't find the staging area you can text me @ 204-771-3083 so I can help you out. Look forward to seeing everyone out there. Cheers....

Man I am so excited about this ride, I don't think I will be able to sleep!
I haven't been on a ride since spring! A lot of bad luck and breakdowns have kept me off the trails. So a small fortune in parts later we are good to go! So pumped! ![]() |

Yes the meet time is 10am and as for distance, it will depend on how many trees are down blocking the access. I'm planning on sticking mostly to the roads but will try a few trails just to see how they are and clear them it they are not to bad. For the most part I figure it will be approx 100 or more km if the going is clear and again it will be a group decision as to where I take everyone. There are many options for rides in the area. If you want to come out and have to leave early I can direct you back to the parking area. I hope this will answer your questions and if you need more info I will try to provide. Hope to see you there.... |

Yes that was a great answer and helpful, thanks. We might make it but may not as we are not bing on road-running. If I had a chainsaw I might just clear trails... Have fun all.

Well I think for the most part everyone will probably want to play in the mud so we might just do some trails and play in the mud.... either way I dont think many of the trails will be open because of the downed trees in the area. I will be proposing a few options and the group can make the choice as to where we go and what we do.

Well it was a great day for a ride.... 11 machines and 4 saws and boy did we need those saws. Most of the main roads were clear but there was still some clearing that needed to be done to get through. The side trails were completely blocked. We managed to clear one trail from the Brokenhead up the east side to Dawson Rd. The next trail we tried to clear was from the pits beside the Whitemouth River to the scouts cabin road. We must have cleared 60+ trees in almost 3 hrs and still didnt get all the way through. We probably had 500 yards to go but called it quits and back tracked around. The scouts were at the cabin cleaning up and camping. Their cabin had one huge tree on the roof that did some damage and put in a few holes but they got it all fixed up. Their whole property is a huge mess. We enjoyed their fire as they shared it with us to cook our lunch. Thanks for that scouts. I also want to say a big thank you to everyone who came out for the ride and helped clear the trails. You all did a great job. If everyone does this we should see the trails cleaned up in the months to come. Thanks again everyone for coming out, it was great meeting you and always a pleasure riding with you.....
