Whiteshell Quad trails

Does anyone know of any good Quad trails in the Westhawk Lake area? I'm new to this site and quading so any advice would be great!

my buddy just went quadding by big whiteshell. not sure exactly where but they asked at the office where they could go. opposite side of the park from west hawk, but might be worth checking out. I notice a trail at lone island lake aswell.

Where in Westhawk are you? My cabin is on the Hawk too, their are some great trails and lots of places to ride but mostly outside of the Provincial park.

white shell

I,m In red rock Lake just past Brereton on the 307.I heard there was a trail in inverness falls just past brereton. Many years ago some guys i know would take there truck from inverness to cabin lake threw a real rugged trail , but the bridge {tree logs} is gone. This might be the quad trail. Cabin Lake is secluded with great fishing, would be great to get there by Quad.

It's been a few years, but last time I was on that trail to Cabin it was quite good. More like a bush road than a trail. The only real obstacle was the bridge, but it was up last time I was out there. First it was a sunken flat-bed trailer, then the logs after it washed away.

if you're riding in the Whiteshell Park there are only TWO trails that are actually legal to drive on. one starts at Toniata (Falcon Lake) & you can ride all the way to Kenora from there. the other one is the trail at Brereton that you're talking about. depending on what kind of riding you're looking for, I would recommend the trail at Toniata... i've ridden it several times & it can be a real challenge in some areas...

here's a map that Conservation has given us with the "designated atv trails"... aside from these trails, it is illegal to ride an atv in the park.

there's also some really good riding if you go just past Westhawk... start in Ingolf, Ontario... miles & miles & miles of trails there. I usually head up there a few times a year to ride.

Riding from Ingolf is about the best, that is where I ride out their. Ingolf and the East shore of Westhawk are in Ontario so not in the Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Quadding in the Caddy/Westhawk Lake & Ingolf Area

Like you, we are new to the Quadding world, however I must say that I thought I knew everything there was to know about the the Caddy/Westhawk Lake & Ingolf area.

Turns out I may know alot about the water world of the area, but was totally oblivious of the trails and land area.

Purchased a 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 400 last year and may two buddies (1 has a 2005 Suzuki Vinson 500, the other a 1998 450 Honda) and I went out quadding, now it must be understood that the purpose for the buying the quad was to haul building material down the hill. Seems I am getting to old to be carrying the material like I used too. That said, my buds convinced me that the quad was more than just a work horse and we should go for a trail ride. Well that was the most excellerating experience! We went to Ingolf and began there. Since then, my dear bride decided she would like to come along, and we are now very excited about further exploration.
If anyone has trail maps of the surrounding area, would sure appreciate if you shared.

thanks

Hi guys, got a boat in at cabin. We took a trail by truck and ended up at the rene river, that's as far as we got. I'm wondering if that's the trail you are talking about. It was off a paved road on the way to Inverness falls. The trail was decent, got in with my 2wd.
We want to get our gear out. We have been hiking it in!

Thanks! But I meant directions by ATV.
Can you ride the pipeline from Toniata to the Kenora area?
Last time I tried I ran into some major swamp.

The once designated ATV Toniata trail is now closed and ATV use is restricted in the park.
Conservation is moving toward no ATV use at all in the park.
Although winter use is still a grey area.
Your best bet is to travel just past the truck scales at the MB/ON boarder and turn South on the TCPL access road.
