Beef wholesale pricing

What's the going rate for the sale of beef? Have the opportunity to buy a half of beef and wondering what should I expect for a price?

We just bought a half from Spenst Bros. in Winkler. I think we paid 2.70 or 2.80 cut, wrapped, and frozen. That's a hanging weight though so you get less after trimming.

You should expect 1.80 cents for the meat and .45 to .55 per pound for cut and wrap.

I figure that if we butchered a beef right now we would charge 2.80 a pound cut and wrapped for angus beef....at the moment, on the hoof is paying better then on the hook.

I paid 1.70 for the meat. Can remember how much the cut and wrap was.
