Well the update is I took the bike to MPI yesterday, they took pictures and told me to take it to a dealer for tear down. I took the bike to Enns Brothers and they checked for any recalls specific to my bike and there were none. So now it is a definite MPI claim have to wait and see what happens from here.

Hey runner the choice is down to two bikes if they write mine off, the choice's are the 2013 can am XMR 1000 that way I can use my tracks but the 2013 arctic cat 1000 Mud Pro is running a close second. Gonna have to see what dealer want's my business the most I guess !

from what I have read and saw on the net the Can-Am is the choice over the Mud Pro . I really think you just got a bad frame and thats all never heard of your problem before . hope it all works out well though. the 1213 1000cc Max is a sweet ride I test rode one the other weekend out here in Regina and if I rode more now aday I would most likly have one in my garage.

asiemens will become famous soon enough
I know when my dad's business bought a can am 800 as a work horse 4 years ago, we had constant problems with the back end blowing apart. When I say work horse I mean, dragging 6" manure pumping hose, etc. So it's obvious that it was just plain being overworked for what it was made for. After they went through 2 of those things and repairing both of them a couple times, they got a Kawi 650, which was good other than the tranny smoking belts frequently. After that came a suzuki 750, which outperformed both the can am and the kawi, without major problems.

So I guess I don't know alot about the frames on the can ams but if you're doing alot of towing, etc. I'd watch the back end, unless of course they've updated that. The other thing we noticed was if you try to import it from the states, getting warranty is a real pain in the neck. Since you said you were getting one anyway, I won't try to advise you otherwise, I would just warn that you do alot of research on warranty if importing, but if not then warranty might not be a problem.
