Sounds like a plugged idle jet or passage. I had really good luck with an ebay bought reproduction carburetor. Cost around $29.00.

That needle on the slide will not affect the idle, only the part power acceleration.Your idle passageway in the carb is probably blocked.

The idle jet is usually down low in the fuel. Often it hangs down from the carb body into the float bowl.

Yes, it's the ONLY adjustable air/idle you can access while running. Usually tighten till it stops then back off 1 and 1/2 turns to start. Then fine tune as needed. P.S. there's no such thing as a 200R You have a 200S

Also a common failing on all ATC 200 series Trikes is the sparks Advancer is located under the cover marked "CDI" look for one or both of the little springs to br broken. Ithey are intact then look for a lot of play in the timming chain GENTLY putting a 10mm wrench on the end of the Camshaft and move it back and forth avoid breaking it loose. If your timming chain is too streched out for the tentioner to take up the slak it will be impossible to tune your engine! Try this trick to re-tention your timing chain.

ill keep workin on it and try the timing chain, but i may take a break from the engine and work on the othre stuff.. the brakes barely want to move, and the throttle has about a half inch of play before it pulls on the slide..also @3wheeler, i knew it was a 200s ive been searching '200s' for the parts and everything. i guess i just got exited

Yep, 85c10... this is what was wrong with my 200E. The CDI pulse generator wasn't actuating properly and gave me tons of headaches. Runs like a loud kitten now lol

i officially rode the three wheeler today!! i couldnt stop smiling for the life of me lol.
i got t to idle by adjusting the throllte side with the screw and nut that is on the handlebars, the wire seems to have stretched or something while it was sitting, its idle still varies a bit but runs pretty well while on the throttle. my dad even did a few wheelies in it lol

That's great that you got it running, but to set the idle speed there is a set screw on one side of the carb for that. You'll find that adjusting by throttle cable will often have the bad side effect of accelerating a little when you crank the handlebars one way or the other.
