Argo/Max...??

...just curious...anyone have one/use one ?... What do you think of them ?
...love 'em or hate 'em? What about prices ?

obviously not as fast as a quad but I have heard that with tracks on,are virtually unstoppable.....

Yes as Ski-dookid said, Our grandpa has a 2004 i assume, 8 wheeled Argo with plastic style tracks. Very fun machine, lots of options avalible as far as cab's, winch mounts, etc etc. He has had very little problems, other than his steering brakes. On the minus side, very heavy, wide and not as fast as a quad. I recomend one, very good hunting and fishing machine.

I test drove a Argo and they are a neat machine, but wow with out any suspension it's very hard on your back and ect. Plus they are very, very slow. I can see where hunters would really like a machine like this.

Our Can-Am Outlander Max was way more a machine with very good suspension and awesome ground speed. This April it will be a year since we sold our Outlander Max due to health reason and wow we still miss her!

Go anywhere but slow. 8 wheel one are much better to go in tough spots.

Plan on changing lots of wheel bearing and doing mucho oiling, and tensioning of chains. They are high maintenance.
I fixed a avenger with 240 hours on it, cost the guy $5500 to get it going again because he never looked after it.

Sprockets were stripped from trans down and front 4 chains on the bottom where done, All wheel bearings where done, brake disks and several sprockets where done, Track joiners where wore out, replace 20 + side cleats. Tracks should only be used in snow imo. Tub had holes wore through it from the tracks touching.

Pretty sure he sold it not long after.
