2004 John Deere Gator HPX overheating problem?

I have a Dear Friend with a 2004 John Deere Gator HPX with a liquid cooled V-Twin Kawasaki engine with lots of overheating problems! The rad fan never comes on and he powered it up and it works just fine. He has replaced the water pump and still it overheats ever on very cold Winter days. He has replaced the temp sensor and totally removed the thermostat, it stil overheats!
He says as some as it gets to operating temp the engine temp light comes on and it always at the very same time the clutch and shifting becomes very hard!

Does anyone had a fix for this? Itís a very nice machine and it would be so nice if the overheating problem was finally solved!

Thanks in advance!!

If the fan does not come on, it will overheat. I think he needs to makes sure all cooling components are working, make sure the rad is clean.

Yipe rad looks like new, all cooling components work 100%. I think it may be a air lock? I know there are Guys on here who have John Deere Gators. Hopefully they can give me some things to try??

What about the temp sensor if the cooling fan not coming on when hot kinda says something is not sending the signal to turn fan on you could always wire the fan in on relay and run fan and see if it over heats with fan running just a thought

Park on a hill and see if you can get the air lock out of her. If fan runs and pump is pumping, what else could it be?? Worth a try...

Well I found out that these SxS have a problem when people check the coolant level by opening up the rad cap, all your doing is allowing more air to enter the cooling system. Lots of Guys with these John Deere SxS with a V-Twin Kawasaki engine have this problem. They gave me a step by step instructs to get all the out of the cooling system and after that do NOT check coolant lever at the rad, use the coolant catch can instead! I sure hope this works for my Friends John Deere SxS!!
Thanks all for your response!
