Meridian Trail Sabotagers

Went for a evening night ride down the IPT yesterday and found a couple spots about 2-3 miles before Narcisse were some one had placed a couple railway spikes on the trail to try and puncture somebodys tires. These spikes were put into the trail sticking up 2" above the trails surface.I happened to notice them and did remove them so that no one would have a problem.I do know that they were deliberately placed as who ever did it took the time to pack stones etc: around them to keep them tight and facing up.What a shame that someone would stoop that low.Its bad enough that there's spikes all along the trail that can possibly cause a flat but to have some one do this deliberately is really sad.Other then that the group we rode with [family] had a really nice ride.Everyone enjoyed themselves.

I cant blleive what people do to damage are machines. The last time i was on the trail i picked up 3 or 4 of the spikes but none were placed there. Is this ever going to end without someone getting hurt?
I used to ride down that trail pretty fast with my sport quad, blowing a tire at 50 or 60 could be very dangerous. We have to catch these guys but with the noise are machines make they are gone before we even get there..
At least u were going slow enough to see them lol.
I do have to say slowdryrider u did sneak up on us once without hearing you, u mught be the guy to catch them lol

I trust this will be reported to the R.C.M.P.

This is very dangerous and some mental midget should be held accountable .

It almost makes one think that Acorn Acres in Selkirk sprung a leak..............

I was mad at myself for not having the camera with me that day.I wanted so badly to take a pic of them to show others what to watch out for.As for the location it was approx 3 miles south of Narcisse.Again sorry for not being able to take and post a pic of the set up.

The railway spikes will be growing outta the ground for many years to come. They were left behind when they salvaged the rail and ties, and from decades before that every time they changed out a rail.

theres a guy in my town thats like this. i find all kinds of stuff in the ditch right infront of his place( Highways property) not his. he has put logs in the ditch just over the crossing so i would go over and hit them, then a hole shitload of nails. ive had 2 flat tires all in the same place. on sunday i drove by and seen a metal thin spike in the ground that was painted green. he had it far out of the ground and i just barely seen it. then i took it and hucked it into his yard. he tried fighting me one day to. then my dad grabbed him and threw him off our property lol. oh and he drove threw our front ditch with his jacked up dodge and made massive ruts. needless to say he will have broken legs if it keeps up. im sick of it
