Welder repair or buy new

Well my beta mig 170 has quit. Not sure why. Not sure if I should bother fixing or look for new. Where should I buy new if I do? Think it's a toss up of the miller 212 or 252 and Hobart ironman 230.

Got the Miller 211 great little welder. Has the option of switching from 220 to 110 with a change of the plug end. Has the ability to weld 3/8 steel in one pass. Good all round welder imo.

The m11 looks alright. The m212 has the same abilities but better gun and twice the duty cycle

The 211 is similar to the 212 just half the duty cycle and not as good of a gun. Think a spool gun is plug and play on the 212 as well. Can't really decide if I need that or not. Spool would be nice as the ability to weld aluminum and stainless would be nice and is easier with a spool gun.

Just pull the panels off the welder and soak in WD-40 let sit for about 10 min. Then blow dry with the air compressor. This is what the welder repair shops do.

Seemed to be very knowledgeable and helpful as well. I might pick up a small tig in the future for smallish cleaner work.

Unboxed the everlast this evening. Havenít used it yet. First impression is all the cables for stick are too small and short. Not impressed. Mig torch is only 10í as well....slightly my fault for not making sure I got something longer. Mig torch is also a bit larger than I would like. And someone that understands English should write the manual. Also weighs 70lbs when he told me it only weighed 45.

Welder repair or buy new

Iíd like to get $700 for it. I have an extra steel liner and an extra nylon liner for aluminum and I think a roller for it as well. And a large roll of aluminum wire. That id let go for a little extra. The aluminum wire hasnít been opened yet. Iím open to offer as itíll basically just be eating up space at my place.

Iím thinking the capacitor issue was the the amount of welding I was doing building my bucket. Think they get old and can dry up over time.

Iím looking for a sport quad rolling chassis in the off chance he might have one for trade lol
