crossing boarder with swap meet parts

Planning a trip to a vintage swap meet this summer in the U.S. We want to take parts down to sell as well as we are wanting to buy parts and maybe a sled to bring home. Are there rules on doing this and is there any rules on an exemption with the age of the parts etc. Any information is appreciated.

I'm sure if you stop in at Canadian customs and declare what you have with a list of parts etc. you should be ok coming back. You just have to declare what you have and the values. They will give you a copy with their stamp that shows you had it entering the states.

If you are bringing parts down to sell they may not let you through unless you have a business license. It happened to me last year but luckily I didn't have a high dollar value so they let me through but told me "I'm not allowed to sell my parts".

I think on 25 year plus sleds no title is needed just a bil of sale. Escpecially if they are low dollar value stuff. I asked about old sleds when I brought my new Harley back and the guy said they didn't care about the old ones.

I needed a title to bring my blizzard across, but the nice lady at the us side said I didn't, just a receipt... That was until I showed up with the sled at 11 at nite... So it got to spend more time in the us till I got a piece of paper from ND dot saying it was never titled, and they had no interest in it! Lots of fun!!! The left hand don't know what the right is doing! 1979 7500, think that adds up to 25 years old?

Just curious how you made out? Did you ever get a definitive answer on crossing the border and importing a relic to Canada?

Your old boss is going down this week end and is going to inquire at both sides to get some information.
